Candyland Baby Shower

When it came time to plan my own baby shower, I knew I wanted something fun and with a cool theme!  My bridal shower was a very simple no-theme but pretty affair and I wanted something the complete opposite.  Since I was having a boy, I didn't want to make things too girly and came up with the Candyland idea.

This shower was a blast to plan and a LOT of crafting was involved!  All the tables were based on some part of the board game:  Lollipop Woods, Candy Castle, Molasses Swamp... you get the idea!  I wanted each table centerpiece to be completely different and representative of its name and so lots of candy and hot glue were used in the making of these centerpieces :)  Each table also had the multi colored squares around the centerpiece in keeping with the squares on the actual board game.

I also, appropriately, thought a candy buffet was in order as the favor.  I found multi colored bags to put the candy in with cute thank you tags ordered on Etsy.  One of my favorite parts of the candy table was the use of the actual Candyland board game and the banner.  I also had A Little Something bakery (who did the cake) make cookies to look like the game pieces.  They came out really cute!  The venue we held the party at said it was the best shower/party they had seen.

Invitations that we put together

Although I don't always love balloons, these really added to the theme
